| The results of the latest two tests (n.5 and 6) camied out on 25mm X65 SAW pipes are reported in detail in this Paper. A discussion on the main findings pointed out in the 5 tests performed in the EPRG current programme is also presented. The whole test programme was focused on the consequence on HSCC and HIC performances of factors affecting residual Stresses in the seam weld zone, such as pipe manufactunng tecnique, mechanical expansion, pipe mill and field hydrotesting and cold bending. The main findings are as follows: no pipe failure was observed in the tests carrried out sofar. no significant HIC was detected in the pipe body of all the tested pipe sections no HSCC cracking was observed in the seam weld region of cold expanded SAW pipes. irrespective to the pipe forming process involved (UOE, 3RF, COE) small, subcntical cracks have been occasionally detected in specific weld regions (seamlgirth T-junction and girth weld). The occurrence and importance of such cracking as a function of the testing Parameters, as well as the still Open questions to address in future work are thoroughly discussed in the Paper. | |
